SLOTKER® Hand Rankings

In SLOTKER® card games, there are two different sets of rankings for 3-of-a-kind hands. Rankings for three matching poker cards, such as three 2s or three Kings, and rankings for three matching slot-machine symbols, such as three BELLs or three PLUMs.

For 3-of-a-kind poker hands, there are 13 rankings of 3-of-a-kind sets: three 2s, three 3s, three 4s…. all the way up to three Aces.

For 3-of-a-kind slot-symbol hands, there are only 6 ranks: from three LEMONs, to three CHERRIES, three ORANGEs, three PLUMs, three BELLs and three BARs.

Although there are more 3-of-a-kind rankings for poker hands, most winning SLOTKER® hands consist of three matching slot-machine symbols.

All 3-of-a-kind poker hands outrank slot-symbol hands, and when both sets of rankings are combined, they eloquently stack together, as such:

Since all 3-of-a-kind poker hands are ranked higher than slot-symbol hands, and with three deuces ranked one position higher than 3 single BARs, you could think of three deuces as being equivalent to three Double-BAR reels (beating three single BARs):

And three 3s could be considered equivalent to three Triple-BAR reels (beating three Double-BARs), and so on:

Following this logic, if we add one BAR, for each poker rank up, what would the slot-machine payline look like for three Aces?

3-Card Poker Hands in SLOTKER®

SLOTKER® playing cards have been designed and arranged so that 3-of-a-kind poker hands associated with any three-matching slot-machine symbols are limited to flushes, straights, single-pair, and high-card hands, AND USE STANDARD 5-CARD AND 7-CARD POKER HAND RANKINGS, in which flushes beat straights.

With three BARs, the best 3-card poker hand is a high-card hand with the Ace of Diamonds, with no pair, no straight, no flush possible.

With three BELLs, the best 3-card poker hand is a high-card hand with the King of Hearts, with no pair, no straight, no flush possible.

With three PLUMs, the best 3-card poker hand is a high-card hand with the King of Spades, with no pair, no straight, no flush possible.

With three ORANGEs, the best 3-card poker hand is an Ace-high club flush, no pair possible, but with two combinations of flushes and six combinations of straights possible.

With three CHERRIES, the best 3-card poker hand is an Ace-high spade flush, with three combinations of flushes possible, four combinations of straights possible and nine combinations with a pair of 4s.

While there is only one poker pair possible with 3 CHERRIES (the CHERRIES-4-of-Hearts plus the CHERRIES-4-of-Diamonds), there are 9 combinations of possible one-pair poker hands with 3 CHERRIES – the two CHERRY-4s plus any one of the other 9 CHERRIES.
With three LEMONs, the best 3-card poker hand is an Ace-high heart flush. There are four combinations of flushes possible, eight combinations of straights possible and ten combinations with a pair of 8s.
